Background
The Zones are the heats and quarter finals which enable athletes to qualify for the State Track and Field Championships later in March. The Perth metropolitan Little Athletic Centres are divided into four Zones for this purpose. UWALAC is currently in Zone 4 along with Hamersley, Joondalup and Ridgewood. The venue for this 2-day competition for this season is HBF Arena Athletics Oval Joondalup.
The Zones are for U7-U15 athletes. We encourage all our athletes to have a go and enter an event. It is a great chance to compete against athletes from other centres. All athletes entering Zones need to pay a flat entry fee of $5 per athlete.
Entry, payment and roster selection is online. Nominations are to be completed via athletes Results HQ Profiles.
U16-17 do not compete in Zones they enter directly to the state championships. The Under 16 and Under 17 State Championships nominations are also open and will close 11:59pm Sunday 8 March 2020.

Parent Roster
All parents are expected to do a minimum of one half day roster slot per child to a maximum of 2 roster slots per family at the Zone Championships. All coaches must do a slot as well at Zones in 2020. It is the nature of the sport and if you do not wish to do a roster then please do not enter your child. Alternatively you can organise one of our ex athletes/students to do your roster.
You must only choose the roster spots with UWALAC allocated next to them (unless it is blank). Please do not pick a spot from another centre. UWALAC is not on set up and pack up at zones.
The spots where there are no centre’s name next to them i.e. blank are available for anyone to select and are key or chief jobs. We ask that as many of our parents who are confident and able to do these positions take them on.
To pick your zones roster see the The link below.
