COMPETITION DAY INFORMATION

PROGRAM

A reminder to coaches that the program will likely run quicker due to less athletes per event. We request common sense, patience and courtesy if you turn up to an event early.

Heats and Seeding

The recording sheets in your file will only include the athletes entered in each event.

If there are more than 8 entries in a 70, 100, 200, 400, or hurdles then two or even three timed finals are run and the children with the three fastest times will be declared 1st, 2nd and third. Please place the fastest children (based on previous PB’s) in one heat to ensure the best possible racing. The sheets will be in PB order.

ROSTER

On March the 1st is Roster 1. Parents rostered on for program 1 are expected to be there the whole time to perform their normal roster.

On March the 15th is Roster 2. Parents rostered on for program 2 are expected to be there the whole time to perform their normal roster.

Failure to perform your duty MAY cause your child to be ineligible to compete.

MEDALS AND PRESENTATION

Gold, Silver and Bronze medals will be awarded for each event. We will also have participation medals for the U6/U7 age-groups only.

When an event has been completed and the places awarded by the site officials or track recorders the coach needs to bring the results sheet to the announcer’s area. Attempts will be made to present the medals as soon as possible after the event to avoid a backlog later in the day. The entire age group should be at the presentation to help celebrate.

Please make sure that only children who DO NOT receive a gold, silver or bronze are given a participation medal for U6/U7 age groups (one medal only per athlete).

GRAND SHUTTLE RELAY

One runner from each age-group and gender is selected to race 2 teams of coaches. Coaches that wish to run please email competitions@uwalac.com to register your interest.
